I visited Mabul Island during my epic six-month trip through Asia. When I first arrived, I chose to stay in the hostel area without AC—yeah… I changed my mind real quick. Trust me, get the AC room. It’s hot.

The rooms themselves are gorgeous, and the food is very eco-friendly—tasty, thoughtfully prepared, but no seafood at all. Scuba Junkies also does an amazing job supporting the island by keeping it clean and transporting garbage to the mainland for the local community, which really impressed me.

And the diving? Absolutely primo. Mabul is easily one of the world’s top dive destinations. I highly, highly recommend diving here.
