K’s House Hostels are an affordable and easy way to travel through Japan. Like most things in Japan, the hostels are exceptionally clean, well-organized, and very respectable. I stayed at both the Kyoto and Tokyo locations and found the staff incredibly helpful with guest services—from bike rentals to maps highlighting the best tourist spots.
The front desk teams are a mix of international and Japanese staff, and most speak English, which is a huge plus. While many locals in Japan don’t speak English, simple hand signals and a respectful attitude go a long way.
K’s House operates about six hostels across Japan, and they’re great about helping arrange transportation or explaining exactly how to get to your next destination.
